Mice

One of the most common pests in the UK is the House Mouse. Up to 10cm in length and 30g in weight, mice are easily distinguishable from a young rat. They will eat up to 3g of food a day but unlike rats can go without water. Their droppings can be found scattered everywhere they have been. They have the ability to squeeze through the smallest of holes so once inside a building they will explore far and wide in the search for food.
The house mouse is capable of producing up to 16 in a litter, and will have up to 8 litters per year. Like the Brown Rat, sexual maturity is reached in around 12 weeks, so once they are established in a premise the population will grow at alarming rates.
